I am 41 years old. I was born in Pittsburgh PA, though raised in Daytona Beach, FL. By and large, I claim to be a Floridian since Florida is what I know. I have two young children, Xzavier and Isaiah, the most important people in my life.

I served in the United States Army for 7 years where I was deployed to Iraq 2 times for Operation Iraqi Freedom. In between these two tours, I went back to Iraq as a civilian contractor with Radian Inc., where I continued my service by adding armor onto military trucks for my fellow soldiers.

Though my pursuit for an Associate’s Degree in computer science was cut short, I have earned multiple certificates from Blackstone Career Institute, as well as Stratford Career Institute, to include:

1) Legal Assistant/Paralegal,

2) Criminal Law,

3) Family Law,

4) Real Estate Law, and

5) Introduction to General Electrical Engineering.

The opinion columns, essays and articles that I write are from the point of view of a Citizen of one of the greatest countries on earth…America.

In recent years, I have witnessed too many citizens and representatives take hard-line stances on a given topic, whether they agree or not, because they are conservative or liberal, or something in between. Their unwillingness to think outside the narrow views of their groups have driven us far apart.

I write under the name Alonzo Tyree in order to pay respect and honor to my children.

Never in a million years did I believe I could become a member of the #METOO movement, but, even as a man, it’s possible. One could actually argue that it’s easier for a man, than it is for a woman, to have their claims of abuse dismissed as nothing but lies.
